    Rear Diff. Breather

To simply replace the stock breather on 2001, is the new part number 90930-A3001? Longo Toyota website says it does not fit my vehicle.

    2001-2002 P0440, P0442 Info

Thanks Phattyduck. Ordered OEM cap. Trying to find part number for the hose. I think it is 12262-62060. Anyone else know for sure? Looks like cheapest option is ordering from Amayama in Japan. It looks like it just slips on at both ends? No clamps of any sort needed.

    2001-2002 P0440, P0442 Info

P0442 and P0440 codes Both codes active. Any chance the small tear in the gas cap gasket could be the problem? Or does the hose play a role in the vacuum checks? I'm not familiar with which hoses but I did not see any others in the engine bay looking questionable. Thanks,

    Brake job - no shims

Yes, shims on. It was very tight, but was able to get them on and have driven with no issues.

    Brake job - no shims

Thanks all. I went back and redid them. Used C-clamp with caliper removed. Used zip ties to hold up with brake line still attached. Still a very tight squeeze with new pads and rotors, but success.

    Brake job - no shims

I assume you are doing this with the caliper removed? I should be able to pull the new pads out, pull the caliper off, and use the old pads to compress, correct? The videos I watched show the compression via screwdriver (unconcerned with damage to rotor as they are being replaced) with the...

    Brake job - no shims

Yesterday, I replaced the rotors and pads. I did the 231 mm TBU years ago. I used a screwdriver to compress the calipers as much as I could with bleeder open. After replacing rotor and caliper, I could not get the pads in with shim kits installed. It was hard enough to get the pads in without...

    Exhaust Pipe Retainer

Forget what I said - I just remembered the previous owner replaced the catalytic converter and it obviously is non-OEM. Thus, the lack of bracket. However, I still have the rattle. Sounds like it is from front end but I've pushed and pulled on whatever I can get my hands on and don't feel...

    Exhaust Pipe Retainer

Exhaust pipe bracket Sorry to dredge up an old post, but it seems I am not able to post a new thread. Does anyone know if the bracket is supposed to be welded to the pipe? I am missing the bracket somehow. The "rings" that are supposed to secure over the bracket arms just freely spin on the...

    Acceleration Whistle - 2001 4WD SR5

Just noticed this morning when accelerating a faint whistle every time I push the accelerator. Windows closed and can hear it in the truck. Trying to relate to RPMs, it always seems to be in the 2K+ range, but this is the engine speed any time I press on the accelerator. The moment I let up in...

Getting Code P1135, already Replaced ABS/TRC/VSC module.

P1135 code - how to disconnect electrical connector New A/F sensor arriving tomorrow. Broke 12 mm nuts loose tonight fairly easily. Also removed the 10 mm bolt holding the electrical connector bracket on. Tried to figure out how to disconnect the electrical connector. Have seen online to use a...

    2002 4Runner PO442 Code

Any symptoms? I just dropped my tank and replaced the overflow check valve / gasket, and the 3 fuel lines in the general area of the check valve. The fuel lines were not budging so we cut them. My symptoms with P0442 were CEL light and fuel gas smell near rear driver's tire after driving. I did...

    Fitting on main fuel line

A buddy helped me finish this job. He has seen them before. It is some type of compression fitting. The red does not go all the way around. He popped it off and back on easily. It is about 18" - 24" before the fuel filter. Managed to zip tie the plastic "grommet" connector that holds this line...
