I know a lot of mirror mounted radar detectors are getting power from the auto-dimming mirror. But if I have just a standard mirror, where is the nearest source of power I could tap in to? Do I have to go all the way down to the fuse box? I have a 2014 4Runner TE. Thanks in advance.

It took a few days to get a response. But I ordered the kit a few days ago. Should arrive soon and then i'll report back. On paper it looks like the best solution I have seen to the aux battery problem in a 2014 4Runner.

Even with everything I removed it was still hard to get my hand past the airbag and into the space. It's tight. But I am noob though.. the first panels I have ever pulled in any of my many cars were pulled today..

I managed to fix this today. Pulling the A-Pillar, Center Pillar, Visor, Handles, Weather Stripping, Scuff plates etc. For the front and rear drivers side. Add the center dome light and I had just enough space to retrieve the part and re-clip into place. Many thanks for the hints and tips in...
