I've done this upgrade but had vibrations before. I recently replaced the rear shocks and its surprising how it reduced vibrations in the steering wheel and what felt like front end play. I'm hoping that replacing the front shocks fixes the rest of the vibrations. This may or may not have...
That spare is the original and hasn't been removed ever, I'm pretty sure its going to be seized solid. Sawsall sounds like the way, or a plasma cutter.
Anyway, I got the other one taken care of and back on the road with time to spare.
Ok got it. The large flat washer goes between the shock and the bottom of the shock mount?
My shock snapped at the stud do all my references are spread over us96 in Michigan.
I'm in the middle of replacing a broken rear shock but can't see a way to get to the top nut. Is there a access panel in the floor? I have to have this thing in the road in 1 hour and 8 minutes! Arrgghhh!!!
I was concerned too but needed complete new brakes up front so decided to do the upgrade. 1/4" isn't too bad, there's plenty of lug and stud left. I haven't had a single issue so far. I don't offroad other than very light trails but I do commute 90 miles a day at up to 85mph. I have over 1000...
I have the exact same issues the OP has. Even the speeds are the same. I do know that I need shocks and springs as well as sway bar bushings. The shocks and springs are coming, the sway bar bushings are here. I will update once its done. I welcome that 30 seconds of vibration free travel you get...
Hmm, how about a remote tank, in line with the cooler? Adding extra quarts would help keep things cooler and dilute any clutch material. You could even add a removable filter.
Another 100 miles on it and not a single spot on either my driveway or my parking spot at work.
The torque converter locks via ECU control so there are a multitude of reasons as to when it locks or unlocks.
Yes and no. Towing my boat with OD on didnt result in fluid being ejected. Towing the trailer with OD off resulted in a good quart of fluid being lost.
Since towing, I haven't lost any. The truck is drying out, there's no spots on the driveway. Its like it never happened.
