I'm in the middle of replacing a broken rear shock but can't see a way to get to the top nut. Is there a access panel in the floor? I have to have this thing in the road in 1 hour and 8 minutes! Arrgghhh!!!
Easiest way to get the old shock out is to use a sawsall just below the upper plate on the rubber bushing. You will have it out in about 30 seconds. As stated above, lower spare tire and get it out of the way.
That spare is the original and hasn't been removed ever, I'm pretty sure its going to be seized solid. Sawsall sounds like the way, or a plasma cutter.
Anyway, I got the other one taken care of and back on the road with time to spare.
