I only used the sliders a couple times and probably could have avoided using them at all, but n-fabs will hang too low so I'd definitely recommend removing them for that trip. Skid plates are the bigger issue, unless you stick to slickrock trails skid plates take the biggest beating in Moab...

I haven't tried that yet, but I just may have to take you up on that. I'm hoping to hit some trails in Sedona in the next month or so even though it'll be a little ridiculous wheeling in 110 degrees. And I've been watching your thread about what you're trying to do now with the quick...

Thanks! I just want to keep having fun with this thing. To the best of my knowledge no one has successfully gone to a solid axle on the 5th gen yet. But if there's a way, that's beyond my focus or budget right now...I'll have to learn to appreciate what I've already done since my new house...

I vote yes for you to put a build thread together, your signature says just enough to make us all curious! And yes, very glad I had the mods I have, especially the skid plates up there! It's amazing how quickly you can learn and adjust every time you try new terrain. At the beginning of Fins n...

Agreed, the SR5 is capable of going more places than most of the drivers (myself included right now) are capable of taking it. I chose the SR5 because the trail was hard to come by at the time and I specifically didn't want the KDSS suspension because I'd end up ripping it out eventually anyways...

Thanks, you as well! The 5th gen is very capable...would prefer a few more things to be done to mine and not have to jump on a 7 hour drive straight from the end of the trail next time though! But don't judge the 5th gen's capability from that day...I was overly cautious, and I was tackling some...

    HODOR's build and Adventures

Great looking rig! I put my ARB twin in the same spot as you and have used it several times, including each day after wheeling in Moab last week. Spent all day on Top of the World, got to the end of the trail and aired up in less than 10 minutes, and the compressor was cool enough to touch with...

Initial Order - what to skip from dealer

I'll add to what a couple others mentioned...I got the factory remote start and while it's nice if you're starting it from very close (maybe 100-200 feet in real world situations) and don't mind if it shuts off when you unlock it, I wish I would have saved the money and paid for an aftermarket...

Thank you! It's turned into more than I originally planned, and after doing Top of the World I've decided I regret going with the Toytec Ultimate lift kit and will eventually be swapping it out for something better... Thanks! If you ever have the chance to head out to Moab I'd highly recommend...

Any 3rd Gens going to Moab UT end of May 2015?

Thanks Guys Thanks guys, had a great time tagging along and thank you for your patience with me and my less-modified rig! I learned a lot from you, including BrianSD_42, TBuzz and also derpiful who showed how to really beat up a rig haha! I put a few pictures in my build thread for anyone who...

Moab - May 2015 - Top of the World And lastly, here are some from Top of the World with some of the 3rd gen and Taco guys. Great group of guys who were more than patient and helpful even though their rigs were all modified for this trail better than mine and were much more capable (thanks again...

Moab - May 2015 - Hell's Revenge Here are some pictures from Hell's Revenge. From a difficulty perspective this trail wasn't as hard as I expected it to be, but we (my wife and daughter) were running it alone and ran into horrible weather at the worst possible time. Right as we climbed to the...

Moab - May 2015 - Fins n Things Spent a couple days in Moab, had a chance to run Fins n Things and Hell's Revenge the first day and then Top of the World with a few of the 3rd gen guys and a couple Tacos. Always wanted to get up to Moab on my mountain bike as a kid but never did, so this was a...
