A flat piece styrofoam got caught up in my Explorer's undercarrage once. Sounded similar to that. Drove me nuts on the way home from work. Something probably blew in, got stuck and got blown out. Just as long as it doesn't come back, I guess.

I just read the thread about modding the rear aux / fog lamps. I may try them in there first and see how they are.

I've had mine (low beams and fogs) for just less than a year had no failures. I think I remember a similar thread on the board where others were discussing this same issue.

My glasses and the radio seem to be 90 degrees out of phase. That screen is black. The odometer display is a little dark, but not an issue. Oddly though, no matter what way I turn my glasses, the trip computer does not black out. Wonder if they use a different type of backlighting on that...

I've gone about 5 miles past 0. Not that I recommend it. I got on the highway after forgetting to stop at the gas station. Took 22 and change out of 23 gal. to fill it up. Never a good thing to do w/ a pressurized fuel system. :headslap:
