Front end clunk - what to check?

This is different than the Swaybar bushing clunk, which have already been replaced because there was a clunk a few years back. Unfortunately the only person in this thread who had the problem solved replaced everything so we don’t know which was causing the problem The lower control arm...

    Camburg UCAs

I have Camburg upper arms in my ‘03 and trying to release the ball Joint from The knuckle is proving to be impossible, a pickle fork won’t even budge it. I guess the third attempt I make in a few days I will try beating the knuckle with a hammer. I am quite disappointed that even though I...

Front End Popping Noise When Turning Left?

I have roughly 3-1/2 to 4 inch lift in the front of my 03 forerunner V8 AWD (2 inch lift in the rear and levelled in the front) I installed it about 8 years ago. About seven years ago I had all the bushings replaced in the front end and Camburg upper arms installed. I had a clunk in my front...

Front end clunk - what to check?

Time to revive an old thread. I have a clunk, only turning left out of a parking spot on eneven ground, usually when the truck has been sitting a few hours. Years ago I had a clunk and it was the sway bar bushings which I replaced. The upper control arms were replaced five years ago with...

    Top recommended OBD code readers?

The other day I was on a Toyota Aristo forum asking the same question, it was recommended to get the Elm 327 I haven’t purchased one yet because I’m still debating a $12 reader or $100 reader, if someone uses the Elm 327 maybe they have some input. Also doing some research on readers a lot of...

Disable VSC, TRAC, and ABS without damaging factory wiring

There is a thread somewhere in this forum that states tapping into the red wire off the master cylinder to add a switch to disable traction control in 4WD. I can’t find it at the moment unless it’s just further down in this thread.

    2003 T4R Floppy Shifter

It's pretty easy to take apart.

    2003 T4R Floppy Shifter

Thats the pin jamming, I'd take it apart and remove the pin before something gets damaged. I think somewhere in this topic people used a longer pin..

    2003 T4R Floppy Shifter

Mines been like this for years, I just didn’t bother fixing it and it’s never been an issue. The 470 it’s exactly the same I believe. My fix if I ever do it will be to fill the groove the pin made in the plate with epoxy, sand flush and polish it. Or pick up a used plate from a wrecker.

4" lift, front end clunk and clatter

Nothing has been resolved except the spring hitting the arm. A click going over bumps that won’t go away is irritating.

How long is the 4.7L supposed to last?

280,000 km (173,600 miles) on my 03 4runner 4.7l One leaky valve seal the past 4 years, runs great, smooth and mileage still great. I am hoping to have it rebuilt from the ground up next spring with some performance gains and headers just because it’s bound to fail eventually.

    Question about slip yoke

I can't recall what grease I finally got to stick, it's in my grease gun which I can't open until the tube is empty or else I will have a messy issue. My apologies for not being able to offer more help

    Question about slip yoke

Mine needs to be greased every couple of months.. I'd find a good heavy grease before replacing anything, a light grease will fling off in a day all you will smell is it burning as it hits the exhaust.

4" lift, front end clunk and clatter

I've looked for the answer to this question, I can't find it.. 2003 AWD 4.7L I just installed all new lower A arm bushings, new Camburg upper front arms and lower ball joints. I have a 4" lift in the front that I have had for a couple of years, after the work was done it has now acquired a...

Calling Doug Thorley Headers V8 Guys

I bought these headers and planned to install this year when the engine was rebuilt, (it acquired a leaky valve stem seal a couple of years back) Major front end work sidelined the project until next year now and I'm glad because it would be nice to have the issue resolved beforehand. Has...
