I've had two 1GR-FE's and they both seem loud to me, sounds like valve train noise, but most will probably say its fuel injectors. Definitely more pronounced when cold and higher RPM's. Anyone have any insight.... is this a "noisey" engine? Is the noise mostly from injectors or does this...

Nope, never! Makes sense though for a comp controlled engine, so I guess I may have been correct about the low end noise... rod bearing noise!

I agree and wonder if the mechanic was abusing it.... does the comp have a tattle tail for RPM? I assume if it does they wiped it!

I'm in a situation with my t4r (2010 V6)..... It was towed to dealer 15 days ago because it wouldn't start... it would start, run for 1 sec and shut down. After being towed there they could NOT reproduce the issue and it ran fine. Skipping the boring parts, two days later they tell me the engine...

Thanks, I just don't want to spend 60$ on the scanner..... I was thinking if the check engine light was on then I would know there was a code and possibly make the 60$ worth it, but I hate to buy the scanner and there is nothing saved.

Hi all, had a 2003 for 9 yrs (251,000), sold to my father.... Few questions please.... 1.) Any oddities to know about the 2010 SR5 v6? 2.) I raised/leveled my 2003 with adjustable bilsteins and worked well.... any advice for the 2010? 3.) Any other good mods to consider? TIA Dave
