I ended up getting these. They seem brighter than the auxbeams, better reviews. I haven't driven with them yet but i'll try to remember to post an update.

update: alternator started to make a pretty terrible noise like the bearing was going out, i removed it and took it to get tested at a parts store. It tested good but i went ahead and bought a replacement anyways. Put the new one on and voila it solved the issue.

Am i the only one who is having issues with the auxbeams flickering and then just going out? I've only had mine installed for maybe 6 months and they're already dying. I didn't even notice that big of a difference in brightness compared to regular halogen bulbs either.
