    Valve Stem Cap Question

Add one to corroded metal valve caps. Acura had the common sence to recall my TL to install plastic caps - I never thought about the 4Runner. I needed pliers to take one of the caps off and the metal valve stem twisted a little. we'll see if it is flat in the morning! For anyone in the snow...

    TSB for DRL Disable

This site is GREAT! Thanks Speed Junkie. In fact, if you set your parking break before you turn the truck on, the DRL's do not turn on until the parking break is released!!! Wish I knew that 12 hours ago. Thanks again

    TSB for DRL Disable

Heading to a drive in movie tonight - and it is 95 degrees and humid so it would be nice to run the car even occasionally. I bet everyone there would love for my DRLs to be disabled... Kinda stupid that I would have to go to a dealer to turn the lights off though.

    Doh! '03 V6 4x4 drain and fill

If I recall, my '01 taco took 7 qts for a drain and fill - that manual was way off too.

Wierd Fan speeds for Heater Controls

Methodical do the toyota's have a blend door. for some reason I always thought that the 4runner modulated coolant flow to the heater core to adjust temperature.

Wierd Fan speeds for Heater Controls

Koz I still agree with you... but only in moderate climates. in my '06 I push the temp all the way up and press the high fan speed and select where I want the heat. the Auto is NOT illuminated. the heat starts, but if I lower the temp down from "high" and lower it to around 70 you can feel...

Wierd Fan speeds for Heater Controls

X2 I vote for design defect - I dont need to spend any more time with the system to figure it out. turning off auto doesnt make it manual - only semi-automatic. I do agree though that the system is easy to use, but when it is -5 degrees out, I want that fan on FULL BLAST - but the truck feels...

Wierd Fan speeds for Heater Controls

mine does the same. it was most noticeable the other night, it was 40 degrees out and the runner was hot. with auto turned off, I lowered the temp and crazy enough the fan speed went from high to med to low. I find that if you are never really out of "auto" mode. when auto is illuminated...

    Dunlop P265/65R17

my Dunlop AT-20's seem to be "cracking" where the tread rolls off into the sidewall. Is this happening to anyone else's dunflops or am I just really special? The truck is only a year old with 30K on it.:xnuts:

    Dunlop P265/65R17

I find that the dunlops don't work in any slick conditions. I cant wait to get rid of them. they are decent tires if you are looking for something to last forever but to make the 60,000 tread life warranty they are hard as a rock. I was in hard pack snow in the shoulder of the road and was...

    4th gen mold smell??

I have this problem as well. most noticeable out of my center vents with the heat on, but I get i get a faint odor most of the time. I have brought it to the dealer for vent sanitizer too many times to count, and have left it over night at the dealer for the ozone generator. that has done...

    Steep Grades

Thanks Guys! thanks to all who responded! My 4Runner (2006, V6, auto, 4x4) made easy work of that climb and the downhill wasn't bad either. I ended up using 1st or 2nd gear depending on the speed that I needed to maintain to round corners etc, keeping the motor at 2-3,000 rpm. They suggest...

    Steep Grades

I am leaving soon for a trip to Mount Washington NH, and have plans to drive up the Mount Washington Auto Road with my 2006 4Runner V6 4x4. The road is 12 to 22 percent grade fo over 7 miles. They recommend going up and down the road in 1st gear. Would the 4Runner be happier in low range...
