The flap or flaps on driver's side wheel well that you have to move/remove to get to oil filter-these are missing on my 4runner. Makes getting to filter easy, but allows water/road debris into engine compartment. Can't seem to find these parts anywhere...any ideas?

I've read through several threads re: this tire just wanted to ask for any recent comments as I'm about to pull the trigger on purchase. I have seen a few comments about them running a bit larger that others of same size, wondering about fitment also. Pros/cons...anyone?

Previous vehicles include '96 F350 4x4 (still own) and '04 Jeep rubicon, neither with ABS, both driven in snow/ice conditions. Honestly, the sound the 4runner made caused one of those "that can't be normal" kind of reactions....but maybe it can? :eek:

Searched this morning and found this thread related to what we experienced last night in our "new" 4runner. Was coming downhill on snowpacked pavement and applied the brakes....sounded like crunching snow/grinding and strong vibration in brake pedal. This really did not sound/feel good. Like...

Thanks for the comments. We have a pretty complete history for the vehicle, not without issues but nothing major. Mileage is under 125k. Will gradually modify to be a bit more competent in the really rough stuff.

Have been lurking a bit and gaining info in the event we would find what we were looking for and a couple of weeks ago we purchased a '97 limited with all available options for the year. Have fixed a couple of minor issues and loving it so far.

Appreciate the responses.....everything about this vehicle looks great, but this might be a deal breaker w/out the locker:cry2:

I'm looking at a '97 limited, have not seen it yet but was wondering if locking diff was standard or option? Owner was not able to confirm yes/no yet.
