TLDR. Bought a RV with a blue ox tow bar setup. I've got a 96, but the tow plates are for a 99 and newer. But will it actually fit? Other than the fat lip, whats the difference on the frame (specifically the front) of a 96 and a 99. These things are $500 and a special order. I'm tempted...

I had to rebuild my solenoid contacts about 3 weeks ago. It took about an hour, I never pulled the starter out of the frame and it was less than $15. If you pull the end cap off the solenoid, look at the copper contacts and see if they are trashed. I'll have to dig up the link where I bough...

Not to be one to ask the obvious but have you checked the oil level? If it is just low enough the light will come on at low rpm's but go away at higher rpm's. Does the oil pressure sending unit have a good connection? A mechanical oil pressure gauge will give you a more accurate picture of...

Unless you are going to use this 100% as an overland vehicle going out for weeks on end - I'd sell the spare winch and buy one of these. You can catch them out of season in their clearance sales and really get a bargain. Put the difference on a light weight roof rack. Toss a plastic tote up...
