    Major Door Lock Problem

If anyone's interested, here's the resolution on the lock problem...or at least the resolution for now. Took it to the Toyota place. Not sure if they even knew exactly what was wrong with it. They sort of stood around scratching their heads and asking the same questions over and over again...

    what kind of shocks?

Before I lifted my '90, I ran Rancho 5000s. A lot of people will probably disagree with my choice, but I loved them. I'm still using a 5000 for my steering stabilizer.

    Major Door Lock Problem

Yes, I've tried unlocking it at the passenger door. No go. And I still haven't had the locksmith over yet, either. Just been driving my other car. Decided to wait until I get paid this week before getting the problem fixed. But I should have the issue resolved one way or another by the end...

    Major Door Lock Problem

Funny you should mention the actuator thing. I talked to a locksmith today (who says he can unlock it) and described the problem, and the first thing he says is, "It's the actuator." But would one actuator or actuator rod affect all four door locks? I guess it could, since when you unlock one...

    Major Door Lock Problem

Thanks for the reply. I've looked, and there's nothing visible that's broken. Thing is, whatever's going on is affecting all of the locks...other than the tailgate, of course. And I've tried all the door-mounted interior switches, and none of them will unlock any door. It's just weird. Have...

    Major Door Lock Problem

Funny thing. The electric door locks on my '90 4Runner won't unlock. The locks were working perfectly this morning, unlocking and locking. But when I went to unlock it to drive home from work...nothing. The key won't even turn. Won't unlock with the key. Won't unlock with the inside...

    32in tires

Yes. I ran that size on my unlifted '90 for a year or maybe longer...can't remember. Never scraped or rubbed, but I didn't really bang it around all that hard. Plenty of clearance on the rear...you might get some rubbing on the front under hard off road use. Course, I had to have the...

    2nd Gen T4R Picture Gallery

Well, let's see if I can post a photo of my ol' 4Runner. I'm new at this. If it does post, here are some details: I bought this one new in '90. V6 with 5-speed. Trailmaster 4-inch lift. Rancho heavy duty torsion bars and Rancho 5000 steering stabilizer. K&N filter system. Cepek 33x12.50...

    Newbie With A Question

Thanks for the reply. I'm sure you're right. And I probably won't change tires and wheels. The tires are basically new anyway. As to why? I dunno. I sometimes do things on a whim. My last whim was almost two years ago when I bought a new Honda Civic Si. If I'd had any sense, I'd have...

    Newbie With A Question

I'm new here, and not all that up to date on how forums work, so don't hold it against me, okay? So I have a question...probably a stupid question. I have a '90 4Runner 4-door that I bought new in '90. V-6, 5-speed. It has a 4-inch Trailmaster lift with Trailmaster shocks, Rancho heavy duty...
