Newbie With A Question

I'm new here, and not all that up to date on how forums work, so don't hold it against me, okay?

So I have a question...probably a stupid question. I have a '90 4Runner 4-door that I bought new in '90. V-6, 5-speed. It has a 4-inch Trailmaster lift with Trailmaster shocks, Rancho heavy duty torsion bars, K&N, Rancho 5000 steering stabilizer, and I'm running 33x12.50-15 Cepeks on 15x8 American Racing alloy wheels.

My question is this: If I decide to go to a 10-inch wheel and a wider tire, will it put undue strain on axles and/or wheel bearings? Will I have problems keeping the front end aligned? Will it reduce brake effectiveness? If no problems, any recommendations on tire width? I have to stay with 33s, cause I can't afford to re-gear right now, and everyone tells me 35s would be too tall without a body lift, anyway.

Thanks to anyone/everyone for any advice.

The wider tires and wheels will put added stress on bearings, brakes, steering, suspension, MPG, etc.
How big a problem is another matter, it's going to depend on the current state of everything, what you consider undue, etc.

My question is why wider tires and wheels? Your current setup is ideal.

Thanks for the reply. I'm sure you're right. And I probably won't change tires and wheels. The tires are basically new anyway. As to why? I dunno. I sometimes do things on a whim. My last whim was almost two years ago when I bought a new Honda Civic Si. If I'd had any sense, I'd have bought a good used 4Runner.
