    60,000 mile service

If you aren't towing, carrying loads on your luggage rack or driving in dirty, dusty conditions... Then the standard oil change, tire rotation, fluids and filter checks. This past year i have been doing all of the above and just had all the rough service maintenance done. Glad i did as my rear...

FJ intake part number Do you a have a part number for the intake? I did this on my 2005 4Runner and the change kept my filter ridiculously clean.

    Dealer killed my dream

Update to this drama So...trying to relax here in Spain before we head back across the pond. Want to thank everyone for their support and information. It turns out the dealer who sold me my previous 4Runner helped out with the situation. Wound up getting a fully loaded Limited...out the door...

    Dealer killed my dream

Thanks for everyone's replies I want to thank everyone for their replies. It is looking grim for getting a Trail Edition in the near future. I am holding out for it, but now having to consider other options. Now thinking about a Limited or even going alien and thinking about a Honda Pilot...

    Dealer killed my dream

Thanks for your help This whole episode has turned into drama. I thought everything was sewn up prior to deployment. Figures...no plan survives contact with the enemy. So...I am looking for a Trail Edition, Silver or gray. Navigation and KDSS Don't care if it has the sliding cargo tray or...

    Dealer killed my dream

So...back in January I sold my 2005 4Runner and got a great price for it. Since I was going on a six month deployment, this would be a great time to order the 4Runner I have really wanted: A Silver Trail Edition. I was thinking how awesome it would be to come home to my family and my new ride...

Which is the more widely used method of changing brake fluid in your 4Runner? - Vacuum (draw fluid through bleeder valve) - Pressure (force fluid through reservoir) - Old School (two person, pump brakes and open/close bleeder valve) And how often are you doing it? -Every year -Every 2 years...

    roof rack crossbar loose

Had that too...and it took a while to figure it out. The only way to tighten them up is to find yourself a bent key torx screwdriver, size T25. They sell these at your local parts store for a few bucks. Don't crank on it until it doesn't tighten anymore...just until it is snug and you don't...

    heater is not getting hot

Could be two things: Like 97HB said, it could (and probably is) your heater core is clogged on the inside... Or, it has a serious build up of gunk on the fins. Don't know if yours had a cabin filter...or if it was changed regularly. To deal with the inside of the core...have the radiator...

Bosch Icons vs Rain X Lattitude blades...

Put Bosch Icons on my 4Runner and the wife's Camry about fifteen months ago. Mine started to streak badly about a month ago (but the Camry's are still going strong). I changed to the Rain-x mainly because of the price...and man, they are quiet. We'll see how long they last. When I switched to...

    Toyota Air Intake Pre-Cleaner

Yea, it's just a dirt catcher and so far seems to do that part well. I will take some more pictures in a few months to show what effect, if any, it has had on the filter itself.

    Toyota Air Intake Pre-Cleaner

KMVRETER, as for the amount of dirt...I haven't had to any off-road driving the past few weeks...just city driving. But even with that...there is a fair amount of crap in there already. Not sure if you can see it well in the picture though...it's not like there's a sand storm in that cup.

    Toyota Air Intake Pre-Cleaner

KMVRETER, This thing is physically smaller than the old box and uses the same mounting holes...so I think you should be in good shape.
