So...back in January I sold my 2005 4Runner and got a great price for it. Since I was going on a six month deployment, this would be a great time to order the 4Runner I have really wanted: A Silver Trail Edition. I was thinking how awesome it would be to come home to my family and my new ride.
Once a month I talked to my sales guy...who, by the way has sold our family 4 other Toyotas. At one time I was worried that with the tsunami, my dream would get tanked. But he reassured me that despite those problems, I would get the one I wanted.
So, finally, after 5 months, I get an email that my ride had arrived. My wife drove down to get pictures to send to me (because at the moment I am still thousands of miles away).
She writes back to me, "Did you ask for a black one?"
NO. In fact, the only thing that arrived that I did order was a Trail Edition. Now, to be fair, I know they add a lot of stuff at the dealer...the running boards and similar stuff. But no rear seat DVD, they said they add that later.
And those crappy Dunlop tires. (I had already told them that if it came with crappy highway tires I would want to trade them in for credit toward some real tires. Who the hell puts those on a vehicle model specifically advertised for off-road like the Trail Edition. Even Jeep isn't that jacked up.)
The bottom line is I am really pissed. 6 months to order this and they effed up getting the right color. So , I feel like I am over a barrel. I need a vehicle when I get back...and was planning on keeping this one for a very long time.
My wife has called a regional manager to find out what can be done, but I feel screwed.
I know this is a rant...but after 5 months of jacking with homicidal pirates, I am not in a real good mood. :vader:
