You wouldn't get 24V by completing the circuit as you described. I have thought about doing something similar for forcing my fogs on outside of using the factory switch. So far this is what I came up with. I think you would just need a second diode on the stock path to the backup lights...

Yea I didnt mean to do that! Was trying a new line. Cutting across that section was a nightmare for everyone, kept sliding . I went high the first time on that back trail, but I had to go back because the trailhawk got stuck. A TRD Pro got stuck in the same spot as we were leaving.

That's crazy that Toyota left that ability off. My Limited has the light sensor and in auto mode it's annoying driving under bridges during the day with the nav going from day to night mode and back. I'll have to pay attention to the interior lights
