    Previous generation 4Runner was better

There are some things I miss about my 2003 SR5 - mostly the seats. In my opinion the seats were *much* more comfortable in the 4G; more padding and seemed more contoured (better side bolsters). The comfort was maybe a familiarity thing since I had more than 8 years and 100K on the '03 but...

    Edmunds TMV

I've use Edmunds for several years and found it to be a good starting point. It seems to pretty accurately predict prices (both trade-in value and new car selling prices) in my area of West Texas. Good luck with your purchase. Les

    Multiple phones paired with Bluetooth

Thanks for the responses. The idea of using the iPhone's own voice activation feature is a good one I hadn't thought of. I've never used it beyond a brief trial or two but it could be very handy in the truck. Les

Any ham radio 4R owners out there?

Here's a pic of how my rig is mounted. The radio is mounted on the fender well hump in the back and the face plate extension cable runs under the carpet and comes out under the driver's seat and up the side of the center console. The face plate sits on a piece of high density foam which is...

    Constant 12V power outlets

Re: battery hooked up and accessories I didn't disconnect the battery first (I thought of it as I disconnected the first harness) but I noticed two things... I had to "normalize" the driver's door window switch. Just hold the switch in the full up position 2 seconds or so. It's explained...

    Portable GPS suggestions

The 26xx/27xx Garmin units do allow you to enter a location by lat/long. They also will record tracks. The C3xx units do not give lat/long. However, the 26xx/27xx units do not have internal batteries so if the location you enter is not accessible by vehicle, you'll need a portable GPS to...
