Thanks, jgue467, I can't hear any noise while driving in eather 2 or 4wd but I get a little vibration in the steering wheel between 40 and 65 mph I just figured the tires need balancing but I plan to get new tires soon anyway.

I just bought a '97 T4R a couple of weeks ago with 155k miles on it. After I saw this thread I figured I better check my cv boots much to my surprise the boots down by the wheels look really good but the ones up by the transfer case are torn and have been for a while there is no sign of grease...
