Thanks for the feedback all.
I kind of like the look of some forward rake so I am hoping going with 2" on both ends keeps about the same look.
I have been using 2 jacks to try to get an approximate visual of what the 2" lift will look like and it seems like it will work out.
Now I just need...
So back in February I placed an order for a set of 6112's front and 5160's with 1" Bilstein springs for the rear of my 2015 ORP from Total Automotive Performance.
The 6112's finally shipped in May but the 5160's and springs were still not due to be in stock until Spring 2022. I decided waiting...
I really just did some research to find how the trails were rated and since it was my first trip there decided to go with the simpler trails. Even those required me to stop and get out a few times to find a good line or check what was on the other side of a hill before moving on.
Looks like your in Charlotte. I'm a recent transplant to the area and just made my first trip to Uwharrie National Forest last weekend in a 2015 Trail with totally stock suspension, just has Nitto Terra Grappler G2 in stock size and RSG rock sliders. Only did the "easy" trails and had no real...
I would also be very interested in finding a good shop anywhere on LI. I'm sure I could get the stealership to do a basic lift for me but I really dont want to sell my good kidney to pay for it. The only place I even know of out here is RMS Off Road in Bohemia, but I have no personal...
The money is between the dealer and Toyota for now so it really does not concern me at all. All of this has been done under warranty except for $100 alignment the dealer performed last month.
I think they finally resolved the clanking and pulling issues. It only took about 8 trips to the dealer...
Toyota has decided that now the passenger side front LCA bushings are no good and they are going to replace the entire LCA, just like the drivers side last week. If they want to keep throwing parts and labor at it I really dont mind, hopefully this is the final fix.
What are the chances of the...
I checked the torque on the rear LCA bolts last night to be sure. All 4 were still at 93 ft/lbs so I doubt the sound is coming from them.
Truck is going back to Toyota today for what seems like its weekly visit. Hopefully the can figure it out this time.
Ran out at lunch to check those bolts. Got 1/4 to 1/2 turn on all 4, not exactly the smoking gun I was looking for.
Wish I had some GoPro's to mount underneath to try and pickup where the sound is coming from.
I'm 99% sure its from the front end just can't pin down the exact spot.
Both pieces of LCA armor are from Rocktek. I think they are gone now because I cant even find them online anymore. Actually got the parts from Path Finder Recovery Gear. The skids on the forward LCA bracket have 2 bolts through the frame that keep them from moving. I didn't get a chance to check...
Mine was like butter for the first 5,000 or so miles and now its annoying me everyday. I think it needs a full Icon Stage 7, seems like the only reasonable course of action now.
What really drives me nuts is some people never have this issue and some have noticed it during test drives. Really seems like some kind of underlying design issue.
Yeah its the worst. I had a '03 VW GTI with 150,000 miles on it and that thing would go straight forever and you could jam a brick in the wheel spoke and it still would not shake. I feel like i need to preform some kid of ritual or sacrifice before i drive my 4Runner or it becomes angry and...
