It does sound like heat shield rattles. It just seems odd since I only have 12500 miles and bought it brand new in August, 2023.

I have had my 20 TRD ORP for a month. I love it, but I am still trying to figure out a comfortable driving position.

Loved the 10-13 4runners. I would still be driving my 12 TE if it had not been a victim of a hit and run in 2015. I took 2 detours after that, one good and one bad before I bought my 20 TRD ORP in August.

I just watched it rain about an hour after giving my new 4runner it's first bath. Oh well, at least the dealer sticker on the liftgate came off easy with a hair dryer.

I bought a new TRD Off Road Premium last Saturday. Today it got it's first bath. Then I got out the hair dryer, removed the dealer sticker that was on the liftgate and removed some leftover glue with Goo Gone. An hour later, I watched it the pour the rain.

It did needed cleaned and greased, but hardly any difference. They did quote me a price of978 for a new shifter assembly. I just said I was going to hold off. I appreciate the info you provided! Will check that out. Thank you!
