That is not exactly correct, it depends on outside air temp, set temp, and set fan speed from what i can tell. I normally leave mine set at about 68 and fan speed 2 and when i get in after work and the display shows 88 for outside temp it will start on fresh where I left it, if I move it up to...

That photo doesn't really show the aim very well, it was more about how both lights are rotated down on the outside. The aim has a 3" drop on the middle step, but I think that one or both are also aimed wrong on the horizontal as well.

Have you considered air bags? I don't know what type of wheeling you do but they could give you back your clearance at the cost of articulation.

Your caster affects steering, low caster makes it easy to turn while higher caster increases steering effort. Typically for most vehicles you want to have ~0.5 degree cross caster to compensate for road crown.

Can you describe the noise, recently I've noticed a rattle type seemingly from the lift-gate area. Been about 2 weeks since it started and since I installed the FJC springs and 5100 earlier this week it seams to have gotten worse, but that could just be coincidental though.
