Hey, I did the same test a few months ago... 4H with no trac help...This is as far as the 4R would climb before right front and left rear just sat there spinning 4L with locked diff...got all the way up and could of kept going if there was more runway.

I stopped by the dealer yesterday for an oil filter. Thought I would check out some new clean 4Runners and....None on the lot?!?! Seems this might be why.
