I got it from LKQ, got the lowest mileage and best condition engine they had in the country.

Without a hitch for the most part. New engine runs 10x better than the old one did (only had 26k on it, and I replaced every single gasket, seal, belt, tensioner w/p, plugs, wires, filters, pvc, etc before putting it in)

Put a motor in it. I put one in mine two weeks ago.

Removed the running boards, having it detailed as we speak.

fender skirt was tweaked a tad, looked enough to let in a good amount of water. Thats the only thing I can think. No deckplate or any mods at all, for now lol. I did take the time to do a new rear main seal, v/c gaskets, pcv/grommet, plugs/wires, timing belt/wp/tensioner, drive belts, fuel...

Actually that was quite easy. Finished up last night, new engine runs like a top. Number 4 Rod broke in old engine for those that wanted to know what happened. pics to come later

Definitely sounds like a synchro issue.
