    U-haul Trailer

Update I probably should have written this earlier, but better now than never. I took the 4Runner 1,250 miles from Washington State to San Diego, CA towing a 5x8 U-haul trailer loaded with about 2,500 lbs of "stuff." I installed an external trans cooler and crossed my fingers. The 4Runner...

    U-haul Trailer

Thanks again for the advice guys. I think I'll be set up just fine. And I ended up changing my trans cooler set-up, so now I'm no longer using the radiator.

    Add-on Trans Cooler

Haha. I realize you gave your opinion which was well appreciated, but I was also looking for some second opinions. Keep them coming!

    Add-on Trans Cooler

I had asked this question in a previous post, but thought I would try to gain more insight about this before I change my current setup. I am making a 1200 mile trip next week while I pull a U-haul trailer. Because of this, and remarks from other members, I purchased a Hayden add-on trans...

    U-haul Trailer

Hmmm. Well the instructions said that if I wanted to bypass the radiator all together I should get a bigger trans cooler. The one I have is rated for 2500 lbs towing and is maybe 7 in by 11 in in size. Is that big enough to properly cool the trans fluid? What is the pink milkshake anyways?

    U-haul Trailer

I installed a Hayden Trans cooler #677. Install was pretty easy, minus the trans fluid that sprayed all over my driveway (thank goodness it was cold fluid...) So now fluid runs into my radiator, then into my add-on trans cooler, then to the transmission. I would imagine this should help keep...

    U-haul Trailer

The local auto parts store has a Hayden brand Trans Coolers so I think I'll find the equivalent of that brand so I don't have to order it online. Thanks again.

    U-haul Trailer

Hey thanks for all the replies guys. Glad I asked the question. The Trans Cooler sounds like a must so I will do that for sure. Any recommendations on which ones to buy? Thanks again.

    U-haul Trailer

Hey you go where the jobs take you these days. Just happens to be in sunny San Diego. But I'm big into sailing and golf so instead of only getting to do those activities 1/3 of the year, I will now get year round exposure. I live in eastern Washington so I'm thinking the drive will actually...

    U-haul Trailer

I'm moving from Washington state to San Diego, CA in two weeks and am taking a a 5x8 enclosed trailer. The drive is about 1,200 miles so I'm wondering if I'm going to have an issues pulling it with my '99 SR5? The trailer weighs 900 lbs and I imagine I won't put in anymore than 2000 lbs. It's...

    Rear bumper woes...

Well, good thing for me I'm not a complete idiot, and this issue actually had everything to do with the parts. I ended up having to break off some ill placed brackets and re-welding them in the correct spots to make holes and gaps line up right. It's not perfect, but no one would ever notice...

    Rear bumper woes...

I just got in my three new bumper peices and from early inspection they seemed to be good quality and the chrome looked good. However, installing them is becoming a nightmare. Holes aren't lining up and there seems to be bigger gaps between the chassis and this new bumper. Has anyone...

    Rear bumper woes...

I ended up buying the 3 piece bumper from the link I previously shared from eBay. I'll let you know how it turns out. This was also a good time to replace the worn bolts/nuts and do some major TLC to the bumper brackets. Nothing a little rustproof primer and topcoat can't fix though.

    Rear bumper woes...

I understand the quality is not necessarily the same, but it has to be better than any 11 year old bumper I would get off of someone parting one out. I just can't see getting one that would have less rust than a new aftermarket one. And I'm wondering how much the fit could actually be off? I...

I found this on eBay. What do you guys think? 2002 2001 2000 1999 TOYOTA 4RUNNER REAR BUMPER CHROME 3 : eBay Motors (item 170383345706 end time Mar-13-10 21:53:35 PST)
