How about starting from Big Scrub. Directions are as follows:

Big Scrub: From intersection of SR 40 and SR 19, go west on SR 40 approximately 8 miles, turn south on FR 588, go south approximately 8 miles to FR 573 (campground is on right). You also can access FR 573 from SR 19 or FR 588 from SR 42.

new to the forum but trying to find more florida people

just went to a big meet with a bunch of tacomaworld guys out in inverness
they have a florida thread they all talk on, is there anything like that on t4r?

Not that I know of, other than the various forum threads We are trying to arrange a trip to Ocala National Forest on February 1st. Please let us know if you're interested. I might take a test run out there next weekend just to get my bearings and find a good place (like a restaurant or something) for everyone to meet up.

So far just me and Avwizz have confirmed.

I have been on a few ONF rides and we usually meet at

Kangaroo Express
42404 Florida 19
Altoona, FL 32702

We can all gas up, get drinks, and they even have some hot fried food (chicken ect) and jump into the trails almost immediately from there. Its nice to hit the trails with a full tank of gas.

It would be great to go with yota guys for a change. Usually it is with the jeep crowd. First weekend on feb is fine. Earlier is good too.

Sounds like a plan to me. What time??? I am coming from Orlando so I have about a 90 minute drive. How about we start at 11am?

If I ever got lost, got real stuck, or had a mechanical break down I would sure want as many day light hours as possible. How about arrive at 8:30. Say "hi!", gas up, and be pulling out of the parking lot no later than 9am?

FWIW It has also been helpful on past rides that most if not all of us had cb radios so the guy in front can stay in touch with the guy in back as well as anyone in the middle being able to chime in as necessary. Handhelds are real real cheap on amazon for those who do not have one already. We are using this until I can mount my more permanent solution - Amazon.com: Midland 75-822 40 Channel CB-Way Radio: Electronics

Occasionally we use a magnetic mount roof top antenna but it seems to offer little improvement.

yeah, more interest generated would give us a better idea of where the best meeting place would be too though. how many people do you have confirming they'll go?
