My Recent Trip to Europe

Started by flying to Frankfurt, Germany. Went to Stuttgart and the Porsche Factory.
Took a train to Zurich, Switzerland. Stayed in an appartement in Beatenberg.
Took another train into Italy. I was only their for a night. Reminded me of Mexico.
Took another train to Cannes, France. That was a fun place to be. Porsches, Ferraris, Benz SLS AMG. Beautiful beaches, with beautiful girls. Giant Yachts off-shore. Defiantly a good place to be.
Took another train to Paris. It was beautiful while we were there. Very smoggy though. I sneeze around cigarette smoke, so I was a nightmare.
Then flew home yesterday. I was gone for 2 weeks. It was a blast of a vacation. Switzerland, definitely my favorite.

Very jealous. I've always wanted to visit Europe.

Did you find it an expensive trip? the main reason I always decide to go elsewhere is what I've heard about the cost.

I flew there and back on miles. A couple hotels were free due to miles as well.

I'm more of an eastern European kind of guy, but nice country where you went too. lol
 
Were you amazed by just how clean Switzerland was? No trash, anywhere. I got to see Mont Cervin (Matterhorn) from a plane, but that is it. I wish I would have had a Porsche to drive those switchbacks on those hills when I visited.

I met some distant French relatives on my trip to France; we can trace our lineage back to the 10th century.

Austria is nice as well (ex GF's parents were Austrian, in Bern). I want to make it to Budapest and Prague sooner than later.

Switzerland was definitely my favorite. Everyone was so nice there.
 
Europe

I lived in Germany when I was a kid back in the 1970s; and have been back twice in the 1980s to visit. Of course, the dollar was stronger in those days and I was less 'cognizant' about the ways of the world.......but I still remember how clean everything was and how friendly people were.

Germans are the best drivers in the world, I believe, and traveling on the Autobahn at 100 mph is safer than doing 60 here. The only gripe is that they drive way too fast in the fog! Their beer is second to none, but be sure to ask for it COLD, or they'll give it to you warm (Bleech!). Don't forget to try one of those huge soft pretzels - that resemble a steering wheel with salt on top of it.

Switzerland is beautiful, Italy is a sight to be seen (especially Venice), Austria (notably Salzburg) is unforgettable and it is worth visiting England & Scotland if you get a chance - just don't drive.
