Torrent sites? Who do you use?

Hey everyone I was just wondering what torrent sites you go to when you need something. I used to be a member of demonoid until it got shut down, now I just kick a** torrents and when I can't find it there I usually have to succumb to using piratebay which I dread. What places do you find safe and have a plethora of content?

I used to use sumotorrent, demonoid and the piratebay but I wouldn't recommend anything the uses public trackers anymore. It's become dangerous to download from public trackers because you don't know who your downloading from.
 
Cool I'll have to check out sumo torrent, I feel so sketch downloading on pirate bay haha. I'm trying to get an invite to a private site, I got lucky and got an invite to demonoid from my brother. Now that's its shut down I have to find other options. Thanks for your help!
 
if you can get an invite to a private site, that would be your best bet on staying safe. It's still a little dangerous though with the ISP's monitoring for the MPAA, over use of download sites can result in your internet getting throttled or even cut off.
 
Luckily our ISP doesn't monitor this stuff. I've used pirate bay for years and never had an issue. Last ISP we had did however immediately cut off our internet from the first torrent I downloaded on their network.
 
Supporting Torrents is like supporting piracy (I'm not sayin we are pirates) and is not helping this economy. Its not safe as a user with malicious intention can pose as a seeder, a peer, or simply an observer while you are downloading. And yes MPAA and Federal Agents are your peers :biggrin2:. Peer Guardian does not work, and so as Change your IP etc. You're on your own. Torrent tips like disabling the client at startup, disabling the up speed or even altering bit torrent protocol from the client options will not help user being vulnerable to access from the outside simply because a port is open in your computer...having a torrent client is step one in inviting a Court Subpoena LOL!

After graduation from torrenting a user will move to DDL, safer than torrents but here comes the Subpoena again!(LOL! It has a heading like: "United States District Court"...blah blah plaintiff: Universal Pictures)

Just a warning, to those abusive torrenters.

Again am not saying we who replied in this thread are involve in piracy when using torent.
