It looks like a knock-off of the Crossbreed. Nice price though.

Eidt: It looks like they've only been around a few months... not sure how many have even heard of them.

Everyone and their mother now makes these. It's a ripoff of the Crossbreed holster. I have a Galco knockoff I got on amazon for about 60 bucks.

Forward canted holsters are awesome, they allow you to carry bigger guns, they don't print, and it's just comfier to do stuff like sit down and move around.

The holster pressed up against your side provides the retention for the Kydex (it'll be loose when your pants are unbuttoned). It also has a leather flap that keeps your love handles from being rubbed raw by the grip.

It is a big holster, if you have pants that just barely fit, this will make them too small. You have to buy "IWB" pants when you get one of these, or just buy ALL of your pants one size larger if you carry everywhere.

Also, get a good belt. I recommend Carhartt tradesman-type belts.

a buddy of mine makes these too, they are just easy to make. but after just materials and shipping, his would be just about the same price. not to mention they offer a shell swap for different pistols. seems like a good deal.

yep, I have that belt already. also, its time for new pants, so I can upsize them a bit if needed.


how is this style when sitting and driving? does it dig into your back? that's really my biggest concern.

I would question the materials and fit considering the price and how new this company is to the market. If you get one, definitely post detailed pics.

I had a hard time driving with the Crossbreed but I'm not sure I every really settled on a full time position. This was mostly in a low riding vehicle with firm bolsters though, so I have a feeling that was a big part of it. Walking around or casually sitting was great. I have higher hopes for the Garrett holsters I ordered.

I can sit and drive with the Crossbreed/Galco clones, even with a 5" 1911. The gun is at 3:00, the holster covers from 2:30-3:30.

But my favorite CCW 1911 is a CCO.

I know of atleast one other person that has one, he loves it. but yes, at that price, im suspect as well.

Yeah I can't imagine using it anywhere other than 3-4:30. At 4 the handle would push forward. At 3 the barrel end pushed into my leg. At 5 it was hard to lean back against the bolsters. I think (or hope) something that rides a bit higher will be just the ticket for me. That and sitting in a more open seat, like the 4R.

So how did you guys get used to carrying? I plan on getting my CHL soon, and am just trying to anticipate any issues with comfort, as well as the possibility of having to get +1 size jeans. Additionally, I don't want to be overly stressed about about gun safety 24/7 because I'm packing heat. So I'm curious: when you first started carrying, were you thinking consciously about it all the time?

**I would have gotten my CHL earlier, but I work for a large company that doesn't allow weapons on campus. However, I could conceal carry and nobody would be the wiser, since I work in a typical office environment. I just wanted to be a good boy and follow company guidelines...for the most part...But I think it's time to hang that stupid policy and be prepared if anything should ever happen here. I hate to think it, but my office is an easy target for anyone who wanted to cause harm to a large group of unarmed civilians. Sure, there are security checkpoints at all entrances to the building, but they are all staffed by our privatized version of mall cops.

Guess it might be time to actually buy a handgun, holster, and get some training

The plan is to get a Glock 19 (like the feel and LOVE the reliability, no decision on Gen 3 or 4 yet), and am strongly leaning towards a Crossbreed Supertuck. Although to make things more problematic, I am a lefty considering either carrying on my left side or doing a crossdraw from the right side

It takes some getting used to. It's not only the bulk, but the weight as well. It's just... different at first. Within a few weeks of continuous carry you should think about it less and less. I have never gotten to the point where I completely forget it's there.

As far as carry weapon, I would suggest trying different size guns, holsters, and positions. A G19 sounds like a good idea, but it's not terribly easy to conceal in certain conditions and for certain body types. I would look at double stack and single stack mag guns, at various barrel lengths. You also need to consider safety, no safety, action safety, etc.

Carrying in an office is tricky. Business casual and dress clothes tend to be thinner and lighter materials and will print more.

I would not recommend crossdraw for CWP, personally, but it's up to what works best for you.

When I first started carrying I did not carry in the office. We had armed security but they didn't screen visitors. I felt like it was a decent workplace. But when I had to fire a lady that went off the deep end and threatened to shoot up the place, I decided differently.

This is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt if you must. I may catch some flack for this too... We'll see.

I would not suggest a glock for a ccw pistol for any new shooter or someone ew to pistols. I'm not sure if you're new to shooting or not so I'm just throwing this out there. A glock doesn't have any external indicators that tells the status of the Pictor such as a round indicator or anything on the rear slide to show that it's cocked.

The glock also does not have a safety. Sure, it has the trigger safety but it's not a real good safety because i would think if something will bump the safety then the trigger safety will most likely get pushed in too and will fire the pistol unintentionally.

Look into something that has a manual safety or practice drawing the glock a few hundred times so you get muscle memory to draw the pistol without putting your finger in the trigger area until the pistol is in front of you.

No flack, but meh... some would argue fiddling with a manual safety can be just as dangerous to the inexperienced user. The long safety action is effective, but I agree, it should be practiced over and over again. I think that needs to be done regardless of the presence of a manual safety.

As for the chamber indicator, I can't imagine ever carrying without one in the chamber, so no indicator needed. And if I ever wasn't sure, I'd be more likely to rack the slide a bit and check than look for that tiny obscure lever that's usually the same color as the slide. I've never really found an appreciation for that feature.

Really though, a J frame revolver would make a good first carry gun and is much easier to conceal than a full sized double stack gun. If was was still going into an office, that's probably what I would use specifically for that purpose, assuming business or business casual.
