Postal Service Isn't Delivering All My Mail?

Recently I've been having an issue with USPS not delivering all of my mail/packages. First time it happened I bought something off Amazon, and had it shipped to my apartment. The address is saved in my Amazon profile, so nothing changed there, and I've had Amazon deliveries in the past to this address. This time the package never arrived, and when I checked the USPS tracking number, it said my address was "undeliverable". Huh? I live in an apartment complex just north of Atlanta. It's not a new complex.

Then I ordered some fuel injectors. They arrived just fine. But some were defective so the vendor sent me some more. Twice the injectors have gotten sent back to the vendor by USPS saying my address was undeliverable.

My wife has been expecting a travel reimbursement check from her company. A month went by and it never came. She called her company and was told that USPS said her address was undeliverable.

Wtf? We've verified that our address is correct, and I feel like I'm probably missing other important letters that USPS felt was "undeliverable". Who do I complain to? My mail carrier? One of the idiots working behind the desk at the post office?

We have bills randomly fail to appear at our house, cell phone bill this month, insurance bill the next. Still get junk mail like clockwork though :(

It's definitely not mail theft, the stuff simply does not arrive. The Postal Service is on the verge of collapse and seems like it only delivers 90% of what gets mailed these days...

(Actually I DO believe it gets delivered, just not to the right addresses. Have had packages end up two cities over and in that case was lucky enough to have the person call us after looking at the label. Everyone else probably keeps it or throws it out)
 
I regularly get a neighbors mail. Which is ironic because I have a USPS placed barcode label in my mailbox that the carrier has to scan, because apparently I am at the start of a particular route.

I usually circle the neighbors address with a marker, stating to deliver to the correct address, and put the flag on the mailbox up so they can pick it up and deliver it to the correct address the next day.

Another neighbor collects my mail for me when I am out of town, and tells me they do the same thing when I receive other people's mail.

I have wondered how much of my mail is mis-delivered, and never makes it to me.
 
there have been many times I haven't received mail, and didn't know about it until bill collectors wanted money.


our post office has recently stopped sorting mail. they now ship it several hundred miles away to be sorted, then ship it back to be delivered.

this is the governments bright idea. at least now they are also in charge of the internet....
 
Ours is terrible too. We're in a neighborhood, but have the big lockboxes centrally located for ease of mail delivery. On one hand, we don't have to worry about stopping mail when we go away for a few days (since it's locked and not in a open box by our curb), but we tend to get other people's mail consistently, and I'm sure others get ours as well.

A neighbor asked one of the postal delivery drivers one day why there was so much trouble getting mail into the correct boxes. He was told our route included a large trailer park up the road, and as such it was a crap route that nobody ever wants. Basically, we get all the new delivery personnel that are assigned the crap jobs nobody with any seniority wants, or whoever was unlucky enough to draw the "short straw" that day back at the post office. Great.

I had one issue with an Amazon order... We have "Big" boxes for deliveries. They put the item in that box, and place the key to open it into your mailbox. Anyway, the key I got revealed someone else's package. I have no idea who got mine. Anyway, Amazon was quick and awesome to work with (I was surprised how quickly they reacted and worked to resolve my issue!) When they reshipped, I noticed they did not use USPS the second time. My last few deliveries have been Fed Ex or UPS. Not sure if they can, but I wonder if they flagged my account to no longer use USPS?
