Liberty is good.

another thing to consider, the type of lock mechanism. personally, I prefer a mechanical actuator. IE, an actual dial, and lever. I am not a fan of electronic key pads. ive seen too many fail.
perhaps a safe that has BOTH would be good.

I read earlier on here about quick access to your safe. If you concern is to get a firearm out for protection then a separate pistol safe may be better than a large gun vault. Most people don't have time in that situation to get up go to the room the safe is in an them open the safe. The newer fingerprint pistol safes seems to be fairly reliable and should do an adequate jobs of securing your home defense weapon of choice when your not home.

I currently have a Fatboy Jr, I should've gone bigger, like everyone else is stating. I also use it for other valuables and such. $1000 is a fair amount for the safe but remember to factor in delivery. Be very careful of the fine print of them just doing curbside or garage delivery. I got extremely lucky on my fatboy jr and only paid $1200 delivered in the door. Granted I had to move it to the bedroom, but carpet and furniture moving pads helped a lot.

I got a browning select. They're only sold by high volume sales shops. Very good value for money. A 25 gun safe does not hold 25 guns! Good, heavy doors and decent fire ratings.

There are cheaper safes, but they really skimp on what matters. Given I spend 1500 easily on a single rifle, 1500 on a safe is no big deal.

I have narrowed down my search to 3 in my price range american security fv6032, browning sportster 23 and winchester ranger. All basically the same safe and priced at 999 also champion has one in this price but was my least favorite

Get the most safe you can. You need to balance fire rating, volume, lifetime customer service.

well.....i spent a couple hundred extra and after looking online feel like i got a great deal. also being a one time purchase i feel like i wont have any regrets or wish i would have gotten a better safe. 761LBS and 90 min fire rating

Nice safe. The good ones are really heavy. Make sure you get an Eva-Dry dehumidifier. It'll keep everything dry and reduces the chance of rust.

Nice looking safe!

I've got a basic 10 gun, which in reality holds 3 rifles and a bunch of handguns. I also weigh it down with lead.

As for humidity control, IIRC the NRA recommends 55%, any lower and wood stocks will shrink in time. I've had great luck with one of the heated bars across the bottom, keeps everything in check.

Bolt your safes down, folks.

A couple in our neighborhood had their house broken in to by pros, who carted off with their gun safe inside of 10 minutes while the wife went for a walk with their baby.

Luckily the neighbor across the street got it on camera and a different neighbor wrote down the plate number of the getaway car because she thought it looked suspicious. Also, it's pretty obvious they were being cased. The wife says she thinks she has seen the suspect car before while she was out on walks. Remember to keep general opsec and be aware of your surroundings.
