Alaskaman... Maybe you can explain to everybody here.. Just what is it that she has done to warrant all the hatred and venom that has been spewed against her and her family... Jim

She was quite the polarizer during the campaign and didn't do much to help McCain and may have hurt him more than helped him.
I don't hate her but I wasn't supporting her and simply is too conservative for my taste and when she opened her mouth she just didn't seem very educated on much of anything especially world affairs.

Wow, where did that come from? If alaskaman doesn't like Palin, he must be a communist? I thought that sort of mentality went away in the 50's, or at least in the 1990's.
I have to admit, I find her statement bizzare. She says she can do more good, out of the office. I would think most of the states are in a bit of a bind and need a good leader. My gov. is about to leave in a few years also and he has to do things that are unpopular, but he is staying here.
I am not sure what she is thinking? Who knows, she mgiht become the next Senator from Alaska, but I really don't know what she is up to????

i heard that she resigned so she can focus on getting the republican presidential nomination in 2012... LOL
i also believe she ruined any chance McCain had to win the presidential election. she is way UNDEReducated and should have never been governor in the first place... i have no doubt she was just a pretty face and her husband was making all the decisions for her.

Hey my friends, it's America and thank goodness we are allowed to state our opinions. Sarah is a sweet mom, and certainly I would have been the 2nd to recommend to Todd (her spouse) that he go to NY and beat the crap out of Letterman for his "jokes". I know I would have been IN HIS FACE for that shit.
Sarah is not the brightest crayon in the box and her decisions are almost based upon whim rather than well thought out plans. That's ok with me for my wife or freinds and kinda cute but for an elected official it's a disaster.
I agree that she is a divisive person and it's important to realize that at least for Sarah, her ambitions are more important than policy, success or for that matter the truth. Winning for winnings sake is her goal in many people's views, but the thing that embarrasses most Alaskans from what I have heard is that she is dumb as a bag of rocks does not want to learn anything and is perfectly fine causing trouble. I think that she has damaged herself fatally in this move, and at least from my perspective that is a good thing.
.... the biggest question up here now is "Who is going to watch Russia from their kitchen window....?"

The country is getting more polarized and extreme everyday. Some want wealth re-distributed, some don't. This will probably be the big issue in politics for the rest of our lives or until the 50% pulling the wagon quit.
To put things in perspective: approximately 240,000 vote were cast in the last governor election in Alaska. Palin got 47% of them. Not exactly in the big leagues, politics-wise.
The country is now running on TV blurbs in between American Idol shows. Obama has mastered it. Palin got some mileage out of her looks and success in some clean-ups in a corrupt state.
The vicious attacks from the lefties got her more attention than she ever would have without them.
I'm expecting she resigned due to an ethics problem we will soon learn of or the need to get on some corporate boards and make some real money (like Hillary did). Or sign up with a speakers agent (like Bill and Newt did).

Georgia squeaky clean? I think not. Up here that's called throwin' at the batters head son.
Not that we care up here as Georgia when compared to Alaska is a swamp.

I completely agree with you about GA. I've only been here a short time and can't wait to leave.
Of course that is off topic for this post about Palin.
The cities here are in GA run by the most radical of the lefty Dems - they differ only in one way from those that run Anchorage.
It is wonderful, however, to be able to travel every day on the two major roads named for Cynthia McKinney and the other one named for her father.

Just in. Palin plans to take her message to a "higher calling". F. Scott Fitzgerald said "When fascism comes to America is will be draped in a flag and carrying a cross". Welcome Sarah, on helium talkin smack.
