I've got a 2000 4runner, with about 118,000 miles on it. I drive it mostly highway, and put on about 55 miles a day. This morning, when I left the house, I had no problems. But I got to work and when I put it in reverse to back into my parking space, it would barely move. It was like it was stuck in reverse. I've noticed it being 'sticky' over the last few days, but todays the first time I've noticed it actually having difficulty moving. I just had it inspected and had new front brakes put on.
There's also a noise near the back end when I release the brakes, this has been going on for about 3 weeks not.
Any insights would be helpful.

It sounds like an emergency brake problem.
