Angry Locks Wont Open!!! Help!!!

i have a 98 toyota 4runner limited... my locks sudennly wont work anymore. (its not rusted at all) The locks that wont work are the front passenger and driver side locks, and the trunk lock. When i put the key in it wont turn at all, same with the trunk, its been like this 4 a while too. The only way i get in the 4runner is by my keyless remote with my aftermarket remote start. The trunk really pisses me off because even when i get in with my keyless remote, and unlock the car, the trunk wont open when i pull the latch. I have to unlock the car, hit the bottom of the trunk under the liscence a couple of times while pulling on the lever at the same time, and then only will it open. its soo embarrisen havin to do that in front of people. I NEED HELP!!!! anybody have any ideas whats wrong?? The dealer said it would cost a lot to even look at the locks, let alone fix it.. anybody have any ideas?? where else can i bring it other then the dealer to fix the locks that would do it for cheap??? I NEED HELP!!! thanks...

Sounds like you have a problem with your key. Do you have a spare or an extra key? Try that and see if that helps. As for your hatch, that's got me stuck too, not sure why you have to hit it a few times before it opens.

hmm, have you tried lubing the lock some? since the front and rear are used more than the rear passenger doors, it could be that they are sticking due to gunk getting into the lock? maybe some lube will loosen up the lock and make it operate more freely.

its a wild guess since the remote opens it just fine, but then again you have a solenoid kicking the lock open instead of a key.

also a good point of trying a differnt key? off chance you keep alot of keys on the samy keyring as the door key? if so, the weight of the keyring tends to rub the key cuts smooth faster with extra weight while in the ignition and lead to possible ignition switch failure faster.

Definitely WD40

I had the exact same problem with my trunk. A couple squirts did the trick! Never had any problems with my door locks. Note to self...lube door locks...
