Lift Recommendations

I have a 2011 Trail with KDSS. Looking to install a new suspension for an over better ride and to get a little more clearance for some basic trail runs.

Looking for recommendations for different set ups. Looking to spend no more than $2k-$2.5k fully installed.

Will I need UCAs? Does it make sense to "build as I go" or is it more of a pain to install items one at a time. Thanks guys.

You'd be better off searching the 5th gen section and figuring out exactly what you want. Lots of people are going to have lots of opinions. Basic trail runs you're likely fine with stock. You don't really run into clearance issues until you're hitting moderate to harder trails.

Yeah, just ask TK-422 - I saw him clean some pretty gnarly stuff on a run we did in Big Bear last year back when his truck was nearly stock. Not saying rock never touched metal, but....

Ya another trail was there bone stock and handled it with no damage. Driver experience is the best mod haha.

Search the sticky threads and see what people use. If your looking installed not sure what an install costs but I guess about $500-800 + $100 for alignment. Maybe Bilstein 6112 front and 5160 rear if you shop right for them. Other than that it's 5100s in your price range. I don't like them because my dad has them on his exploder and they ride like crap. But it's a Ford too.

^^ it must be the FORD part that makes you not like them. I have 5100 on all 4 corners and they run surprisingly well. To be honest, my 5100 are used to give me a better lifted stance and hold me over until after I get married. I could've waited until after the wedding to begin my mods, but I hate the way the Trail looks out of the box (no offense to anyone).

Also, not to repeat everyone else, but the general 5th gen forum will be your best bet. There are many different opinions for different needs. Some want a zombie apocalypse-mobile while some want a lift purely for looks. Plus you will find random, good information that can be of interest. In summary, dont be lazy and utilize that search button.
