00 Limited. Good Deal? Bad Deal? Fair?

I am in the market for a 99-00 limited. I found a 2000 limited with 115k orig miles. One owner- older gentleman. Timing belt, water pump and all recommended maintenance performed at a toyota dealership at 100k miles.

Drives good. Zero rust, No weird noises, no weird smells, and all wheel options work plus diff lock.

Cons: running board was hit and was repaired about 9 years ago. No frame work. Dealer inspected after incident.

Dents and scrapes around wheel wells and bumper.

He is firm at $6,000. What do you think?

Sorry no pics but interior is tip top. Exterior id give it a 6-7/10. Paint still shines - just some bruises. Im in Southern CA

Great deal! I have running boards if your that worried although most people just take them off so lemme know if you want to work out a deal for them looking to get rid of but i think overall thats a great deal for the year and price.

The miles seem kind of low, it's pretty hard to find a 3rd gen with under 150-170k miles these days. IMO that is a fair price. In Colorado, 3rd gen's with like 200k+miles list at above that price, and people pay it -- and I'm not even talking about a Limited version like you found, I mean like SR5/etc

Try to negotiate a little bit (As always in a private deal) -- but if he doesn't budge, that price is not bad for the condition it sounds like it's in.

With those miles, the engine should be good for a while I'd imagine. The frame you said had no damage so it's good. Interior you said is nice, 4x works good, drives good, no leaks, knocks, ticks, etc than its probably a nice 4runner. Never had too many problems with 3rd gens myself, but there are always exceptions. Had a pink milkshake one day in my first 4runner on my lunch hour at work which sucked. 3rd gens are pretty tough reliable trucks given the owner does maintenance as needed and suggested.

I have a '97 4runner limited, came with 150k but the interior/exterior super clean and well maintained, owner was asking 7k but i was able to grab it for 6k.

So yea, it sounds like your find is a great deal.

if your all wheel options means 4x4 and has rear locker then this is a good deal for SoCal and not having rust, im near Temecula if your near by and you grab one let me know

I got mine for 7k...

120k orig owner, meticulous records and dealer maintained. Al stock no mods and never heavy off road. It doesn't have the locker either! Elderly man, likely drove around town for the last few years, that would be the only con to me...

That sounds like a bargain...that is a bargain for me...I think I will buy one!!!

I just paid $6200 for my 2000 Limited here in PA back in late February and had no qualms about doing so. It had 143k miles. It's stock except for an Alpine double din w/ bluetooth. Owner was a Porsche/VW/Audi mechanic and bought it from his neighbor, the original owner. Interior/exterior were in good shape and he had done the belts/pump/brakes/fluids/valve covers as well as a minor top/bottom end rebuild at ~135k. 4x4 is a bit finicky and I need to test the front diff switches but other than that it is in very solid shape.

I'd say $6k is a pretty good deal especially in CA.

It sounds like the mythical 4runner of legend. I'd be cautious to verify everything, but if it turns out to be legit, $6000 is an absolute steal.
