004wd Build Thread!!

So i might as well start one of these because i cant help but mod my 4runner!
gonna copy my hello thread because thats where i started

New to the forum but not 4runners/cars/forums
it all started with a 1994 4runner v6 sr5 5speed

which my friends decided to get me to mud bog and get whats was at the time my dads truck!

then i beat it up so bad he bought a new truck and i took this one!

Then i got out of the truck game for a while and built this

v6 powered mr2

and now I'm back and i sure missed driving a truck

2000 sr5 v6 130k 5speed 4wd

with a clean!

got tons of plans....

ok....so been super busy
-did a full tune up. plugs/wires/fuel filter/oil synthetic etc
also as a tempory couldn't take the rear sag so through a cheap set of moog coils in the rear until i could save up for a lift which I'm also having a hard time trying to figure out .

added so,e custom trd decals sock monkey on tacomaworld he does great work!

as well as the 3rd brake light

then i spent the entire weekend doing a stereo system
sony xnv770 in dash navi/dvd/ipod etc
sony speakers all around
two sony amps
a bazooka tube for the bass for now
and some led dome lights (gonna get brighter but nice ambience inside )

picked up a fj cruiser arb bumper for very very cheap
debating whether to keep it or not I'm thinking just sell it and buy a scrockworks bumper or a tacoma arb etc

also debating on selling my wheels for some black trd fj wheels for contrast? any thoughts?

Just ordered a t4r cb mount and a set of hella comets ! (Thanks t4r4life!)
trying to decide what cb radio to go with, don't have a lot of experience with them only cheap wal mart cobras

mostly for looks i honestly dont need anything fancy but I'm doing less in the interior and with my in dash i don't want a old looking radio!

my only problem with this one is idk if ill be able to fit it where the ash tray is like the smaller ones and i cant think of a good spot otherwise that won't add to the clutter
any suggestions?
anyone fit a radio that is the 39.99 dollar cobra in the ash tray slot?

i like the cobra more, i would mount it on the left side of the transfercase shifter, that way you can look down and see the cb. i'd go with a 4' just cuz 3' looks goofy

oh and that ARB sell it and buy a outdoorlogic, shrockwork is over priced and you have to wait like 6 month.

Was actually thinking arb Tacoma because I'm selling this one for 700 and I can get a Tacoma one shipped to my door or under 800!

But I really really like the schrockwork bumper! Too much money right now

Thanks man! I keep thinking about that but idk might be better off selling them for a set of black fj trd!

And yea the bumper lines up great actually mostl looks perfect the biggest problem is the mounting bracket is too wide :-/
Think I'm going with a Tacoma arb instead .... I think lol

Installed a cb radio , antenna, mount (thanks t4r4life)
as well as a pair of hella comets (thanks again t4r4life)!

will get pics of the cb later but heres the rest

then it was on to the lights I'm still thinking i might either

paint the whole grill black?
or try a version of the satoshi mod lemme kno what you think

i wanted to lights to look stock and recess into the grill

so here it goes

no turning back now!

this is on my 2wd just took them out and deciding if i should sell them with the runner or put them on my roof rack on the 4wd.
