70mph is all shes got
Hello all,
I have done a bunch of looking around on the problem I am having but need some help narrowing it down and have made some recent changes that might be the culprit. The truck is an 01 with 232,000 miles
THE PROBLEM: At 60 or 70 mph she has no more power if I am pegging it to get there, if I am slowly and gradually gaining speed it seems does fine. I have tested it with ECT and no ECT not different result in either pegging it or gradually gaining speed
THE CHANGES:
1)The air box that came on it was not a stock air box it was some kind of KN modified version, that housing broke from bouncing around off road, so I replaced it with a Volant. (No I do not buy into the CAI myth of more power, just wanted something somewhat cheap on the pocket book but still getting decent reviews.)
2) Brand new 285/75r/16 KO2's (old pair were also 285's but very worn)
WHAT I READ ABOUT IT:
Seems like it could be a clogged Cat? Also wondering if it could be the throttle position censor? Could it also be the transmission having trouble shifting at higher gears? Could if possibly be the oil getting on the MAF from the new filter?
My question also that this problem didn't occur till the new air intake was installed. And this past summer put over 2500 miles on her on teh high way travelling 75-80 no problem, any suggestions given the scenario?
