Can I rent a dolly from Uhaul and tow a 2000 Maxima (curb weight 3200 pounds)? I assume since the two front wheels of the Maxima will be on the dolly, it should take a lot of the stress. Thoughts?

Should be fine, tow capacity is 5000lbs, and the tow dolly should lessen the tounge weight. I tow a 22 foot boat with mine all the time and it's fine. You won't be flying down the freeway and certainly not uphill but it should be fine.
It should work fine but if you are renting from U Haul on line their computer might not let you tow a Maxima. It did not want my 2000 4Runner to tow anything. Tell them you're towing a Miata.
