03 non sealed v8 trans question

I have 133 on the clock and am nit sure if my fluid has ever been changed. Should I drain and fill or just leave it alone?what fluid does a 03 non sealed take.

I changed my filter and about 4 quarts then about 2 months later drained another 4 quarts. I used Amsoil recomended ATF. About every 5000 miles I will do another drain and fill 3 more times. That should have the majority of the fluid replaces with Amsoil.

A lot of people have recomended the drain and fill process instead of flushing.
I have 175k on mine and I do not know how much care the fluid got before I got it with 150k. It was a commuter vehicle if that makes a difference.

If I remember correctly, the factory maintenance schedule for the non-sealed transmissions is a drain/refill at 60k, so I would suggest doing that, and maybe again in 10k. As for fluid, I believe the non-sealed transmissions, both 4 and 5 speed, use the Type IV fluid.

Drained my fluid and it looked perfect. I bought the truck from the toyota dealers grandaughter though
