04 Brake Rotor warp / replace

Hello,
I am getting ready to do a brake job on my 2004 4runner 2WD. I've done this before but within a year I am getting rotor warp and a terrible pulsating when braking. The last rotors were from NAPA auto parts. Looking for advice on best rotors and pads to put on. OEM? I really don't care I just want them to last. Thanks!

Had similar trouble with my Gen3 years ago, after replacing OEM rotors with aftermarket. Tried 2 different sets of rotors, problem returned in weeks both times. Went back to OEM, problem solved.

I've had great luck with Centric rotors and Akebono pads on multiple vehicles including my 4runner. Highly recommend.
 
I have the same issue after using Auto Zone parts. Don't judge I was broke lol. I have the Power stop z36 severe truck and tow kit in my garage. Will be installing later today. I've seen good reviews on here so hopefully they last.

I have seen a lot of shops over torque our wheels. Because it’s a truck with six lugs they get torqued over a hundred pounds. Our specs are 84 pounds. Also, the sticking calipers can cause a lot of problems too.
 
Thank you. I tried searching for threads like those before I asked. I must have done something wrong when I searched. Looks like I have some reading to do.
 
I've done them myself and torqued them to specs but I have also had front right caliper seize twice. Is there a fix for the seizing issue?
 
Rotors dont warp. It's most likely uneven pad deposits on your rotors from using junk friction.

Centric is good stuff, I've used them on everything I've owned for the last 20 years (I'm one of the founding members of the company) Their rotors match OE for materials and quality. StopTech rotors are rebranded (drilled or slotted) Centric. Don't buy AZ, your truck deserves better than that. If you are having reoccurring brake problems you need to look for the source. With the mileage we all have on our trucks, bearings and other running gear can cause play, vibration, judder, runout and wear.
On the caliper binding, replace the pins, they wear down and bind over time.
Make sure everything is super clean, hardware, caliper bodies and the face of the hub, use a wire brush, get it clean-clean!
Pad bed-in is essential to eliminate noise and make everything work right.

2 days ago I put Brembo rotors and Akebono ceramic pads in front, for the same reason (pulsating).
I just finish bedding them. So far so good. No pulsating. Will see in the long run.

Next step brake fluid flush

I firmly believe in the break-in/bedding process. I've had these issues in multiple vehicles over the years and never knew about the bed in procedure. Not having the issues anymore since I started doing this on my 5th gen and now the 4th gen as well. Some people will disagree with it, or claim they never have any issues not doing it, but I figured why not try it. Really seems to help IMHO. It's only about an hour of my time.
[MENTION=98877]ForEnglishPressOne[/MENTION] Great Info! Thank You! I have the Centric 5th gen caliper upgrade on my 4th gen with Power Stop rotors and pads and have been happy with them.

One tip I have for everyone: If you go off road much, think twice about drilled and slotted rotors. I did this on my 5th gen years ago and they do fill up with mud and dust, basically canceling out the heat saving properties and in some cases making them hold in more heat than usual. But if your loading the family up or towing for hwy use, they work great.
 
Thank you everyone. I got lots of good info here. Planning on doing the job this weekend. Centric rotors, OEM pads, NAPA calipers, brake fluid flush and while I am in there I am replacing both front wheel hub/bearing assemblies.
