05 Sport price check

I am thinking about selling my 2005 sport awd v8 with 197k miles. Drive seat is worn, some paint chips on the hood (chips from rocks) and the AC has recently stopped working (I am getting it fixed)

I am wondering what is a reasonable price.

Pricing is really zip code specific based on demand and supply.

Start with the usual Nada, KBB .. then local CL and online auto sell pages. Should give you an idea of what the truck is valued in your area.

Local CL has prices all over the board, but mostly everything I see is the V6 and not the V8.

Go off Nada and KBB pricing. Then adjust price according to damages/repairs needed. Remove sentimental value cause the potential owner probably doesn't care.

KBB has it at $7200 and NADA has it from $8200 to $9200 for trade in value. I guess thats the starting ball park. I have my name on the list for the dash replacement and was going to have the AC stuff done when they pull the dash, pulling the dash is a huge reason why AC replacement is so expensive. How much should I take off for that?

If it was me and those are the numbers, I'd start it up for $8500 - 9000, then start talking down:

*Don't ding it for the dash. Toyota will repair that eventually since you're on the list. Just let that be known when a buyer comes and looks at it.

*For the AC, negotiate when a serious buyer comes and looks at it. Go get a few quotes from repair shops in your area so you know how to bargain with the buyer.

*Lastly, I can't stress the fact that it's a used vehicle. Too many times people expect a gem of a car for cheap. Sometimes you gotta put people's reality in check.

Thanks, I priced it a bit high, easier to take a lower price.
