06 sport whineing niose 60 to 80 mph

I have an 06 sport v8. At speeds between 60 to 80 mph i get this whineing whenever i let of the gas much louder at 80. Sounds like ring and pinion. I had an 04 v8 before this that did the same thing just not as loud .Only 13.000 miles on the 06.

The gear level should be confirmed first. Remove the fill plug and stick your finger in there!

If you can not feel anything with your finger, then bring it directly to the dealer.

My experience with worn out diffs is that they howl. In others words a low pitched grown. Wo wo wo wo sort of thing. Once this happens it is game over. Changing the fluid will do nothing.

Fluid is fine.My 4runner only has 14 000 miles on it. The niose is most noticeable at 80 mph foot on the gas no whine as soon as i take my foot of the gas it whines back on gas no whine.I had 04 v8 sr5 that did the same thing not quite as loud.

If it is happening on decel, it is most likely the pinion bearing. Like Greasefingers posted, best to bring it to the dealer.
