Repairing rust and need to remove one of the six body to frame mounts, drivers foot well specifically. With car on the lift via frame rails any reason to be worried about just cutting it out and let the other five points take the load while I cut/weld? Yes I'll be replacing it.

Is the rest of the rig solid? If so, I can't imagine there being any issues.

i did the same thing when i replaced my passenger side floor pan. just take some reference measurements and make some marks to help with alignment when you go to put the replacement in. i had to use my floor jack to get the fire wall back up 1/8th inch after i cut it, but i did cut the entire rocker panel as well at the same time.

Thanks, yea it went alright. The outer rocker was sound so I only removed the pan and inner rocker along with the body mount. It might have moved slightly but the door closes fine and no visible mis alignment.

Finally buttoned it up, door shuts fine so all is well. I'll post up some pics.

Just curious, how common is it for the floor panels to rot away? Did yours look okay from underneath? I'm wondering if I need to pull the carpet and check mine.
