My next mod is exhaust, I'm not worried about customer service for either product. I've seen a couple flomaster videos but if you have a magnaflow 18" or 14" could you post a quick video for me please. Also perfomance wise what has better gains?

I have a 14" magna, but i dont have a video camera to make a video. It sounds good. Its not too loud at all. But i also cut the tail pipe off after the rear axle, and my muffler has dents in it from rocks. It use to sound nice, but with the bottom crushed it sounds not as nice :)

And as far as performance i cant tell a difference, My 4runner is tired

Well I'm looking for loud and performance at the same time. I want a deep v8 sounding and I've narrowed it down to theese two. How throty is it?

I'm also gunna have no pipes after it. I'm just gunna do a turndown pipe

Hey, if you don't care about customer service (or quality), then Magnaflow is the company for you. I mean, really. When my 3 Magnaflow's all broke, no one at their company gave a sh*t.

I'm out $150 extra bucks, too. Hey, if that's what you're into, then go for it. After all, rattling metal makes a muffler turn heads!

PS: Go for the Cherry Bomb.

Yeah.. cherry bomb is sounding pretty good!

Sure do.

You want either the 88107 (2.25") or 88108 (2.5"). Of course you can find them cheaper on other sites.

You're gonna get rid of your spare?

I'm running 285s. No point in spare. But I'm going to do single in dual out tand two turn down pipes right after the muffler. Kinda pointless but its diffrent so I think it will be cool.

my magna flow was $70 what fancy thing did you buy COB

12286 Stainless Steel oval muffler 2.5"

It was $89. That, and $150 initial install. That's totally acceptable.

Then the first one broke... alright, call amazon, register for warranty, blah blah, wait for shipping, pay exhaust shop to swap mufflers, $75 freakin dollars. Ehhh... fine, whatever.

Then, 3 months later, the second one breaks... wtf? Go to Magnaflow's HQ, the say they'll cover the cost of the 3rd install. Cool.

I have to order yet another, pay another $75 dollars, and then they decide that they'd rather refuse to cover it.

Wtf? Now I am stuck with $150 worth of extra installation fees and a 3rd muffler that has, you guessed it, broken! It broke within a month! I can only imagine the next one will break in two weeks, then one week, then one day! Piece of sh*t!

This is what I hear while driving my truck. It's a real annoyance, especially when your car rattles the whole neighborhood at night.

So, if you're cool with that, get a MagnaBlow. Funny, I don't wheel that often, and when I do, it's not NEARLY as hard as Jason does.

Okay I think I want borla. now let's talk high flow cat.

Is magnaflow the only company that makes them.

My Magnaflow High flow cat is actually fine. I've had it for about a year.

Other than the heat shield peeling off, it's been working well without drawing any codes.

I heard a tip from a Magnaflow employee that the mufflers are built like sh*t and often aren't even welded properly. He did say that there is actual quality control on the catalytic converters because that's an iffy thing to screw up.

So would you recommend it?
There are some obvious displays of bad workmanship, but it seems to be working

Mine has broken in opposite corners of the shield.

Then again, if it is as prone to failure as the mufflers, it's just 4 bolts to replace, not welding.

Here's some pics of the heat shield and the weld failure.

I am waiting for it to fall off. If it does, I'm gonna get another at Magnaflow's expense.

Any of these systems bolt on? I just found out today that my tail pipe is busted where it drops down to meet the muffler...... :(
