'15 Navigation/Radio

I own a 15 SR5 with Navigation. Numerous problems.
~When placing vehicle in Reverse, back up camera does not activate, it just shows the "T" screen from initial start up. Happens a few times a month.
~USB port has surged and killed an iPod Classic 160GB. I'm SOL on this and they cost far too much to replace. Fried a second iPod.
~iPod while connected and playing stops, but the counter changes and counts upward to approximately 17 seconds, error message comes up, and freezes the entire unit. Even unplugging the ipod and USB cable, the unit is frozen. I can't switch to radio, XM (when I had it), or back to full screen nav. I can only cut it off with the power button.

**Carried to dealer, wasted my :censored: time. I received a software update. Since software update, new issue has started. 6/23/16

~iPhone connected via Bluetooth. Phone rings and can be answered on the phone itself but on the Navigation unit, it can not. Navigation unit will not display call info until 4th ring but the buttons to answer call are greyed out.

**Service manager says to expect unit to randomly "refresh/reboot" while driving, its normal. Not that its happening, but I should be ok, while needing directions and it just start over. I find that unacceptable.

You are going to the wrong dealer. My new Nav came in today on my 15. It reboots, sometimes up to 20 times an hour when driving. I have a few short videos of it rebooting 5-7 times in just a couple minutes.

The rebooting thing is common and they have replaced a lot of head units.....but, the new ones do it also... No solution has been found, so they tell people it's normal. ITS NOT.

My '15 does this same exact issue. It reboots while i'm driving....freaking annoying trying to figure out how to get out of Houston,Tx

What dealer are you going to?

I was going to Village Toyota in Crystal River/Homosassa FL, but after a lengthy battle with the service dept. I refuse to go near that place. Everything was issued as my fault. After spending numerous trips and nearly 20 hours total waiting for BS fixes and to be repeatedly called a liar, I gave up there. I requested a Regional Rep and Toyota Corporate said ok but the dealer refused.
After 5 visits, I have no documentation of my visits, and when Sun Toyota ran my VIN, they show only an oil change and a tire rotation as being done. No records of radio, AC, or weather stripping troubles. Also whatever they did disabled my service interval lights. Sun Toyota cant figure it, but I was past due for tire and oil change be mileage, yet they had not even come on saying "soon" much less "required"

I am having this same issue. Once I answer the call using the phone itself, bluetooth picks up the call and the screen says "Phone Call in Progress".

Have you found any resolution to this?

Sounds like your issues far exceed mine and I'm sorry that has been such a headache, the dealer is never a fun place.

sorry, been away from the world for a minute. no solutions found. Dealer did a software update, now its more sporadic. As per the usual dealer BS, no solutions, further problems, and now my warranty is gone.
