Well its that time. Just hit 15k, looking in the manual its just a bunch of inspection BS, rotation, and oil change.

Ill get the oil changed - free for life Now what about rotation? Tires are worn evenly, alignment is perfect, and there is no vibration. I know these Duncrap AT20's are hard to balance and get just right so I'm hesitant to have them touch em.

Anything else?

Rotation is good and important, I would do it. Make sure the lugs are torqued properly. By 'properly' I don't mean just tight; I mean tightened to the proper torque in a sequential and specific pattern.

As far as balance goes I have a slightly different position than most. If I have zero vibration I tend to pass on it. The reason is the chances of them screwing it up on the rebalance is high. Maybe I have just always had crappy tire techs but it seems balancing the tires always takes me 2 or 3 trips to the shop. That's why I choose to pass on the balance. Your call...

OK, Ill have them rotated. What about all the visual inspections. The stealer has a $290 price tag for 15k service...not vehicle specific, have not really talked it over with them.

Here's the list. The only thing that requires somebody to have a clue is the re-torquing the propeller (driveshaft). $290 seems a little high but not unheard of. I would print this list and pin them to everything but the diff fluid changes for the $290. Tell them the customer satisfaction survey will be poor unless each item is line itemed on the receipt.

In spite of what the dealer may say you can do maint elsewhere provided you keep the documentation. They can not, by law, refuse warranty work based on the proper service being performed elsewhere. If you know a reputable shop they could probably do the whole thing for a squeak under $200.

i just did my 15k service last week, it was suppose to include transmission fluid change, but i dont think they even did thato my truck. what should i do?

it most definitely did not require a trans fluid change. they are sealed trans with supposedly 100k oil. mom's 04 LC still has original oil at 70k in trans and diffs i believe

:iagree:If you tow the '07 model does suggest changing the axle fluid. Again, for the towing people, t-case at 30k intervals and transmission at 60k intervals. Non-towing folks can go some undefined time; lifetime I guess.

IMHO, if you want max durability and reliability maintain to the towing standard with the possible exception of the axles. If you aren't towing or just moving a JetSki once in a blue moon 30k rather than 15k is more than adequate.
