16" wheels on a Limited??

I got a 2006 Limited 4runner with factory 18" wheels.

Looking to downsize and was told i can't put 16" wheels on my truck because of the brakes. Is this true?

from what I've read here on the forum, that is correct as the brake rotors are larger on the Sport (17" rims) and Limited models (18" rims).

I think the wheel size on all the runners are the same, 17". But the Sports have the larger calipers which means anything less than 17" wheels wont fit. Limiteds had the option for the larger rotors IIRC, it comes down to whether or not yours has them. I know my SR5 doesnt have the larger calipers....for now at least....

check your caliper casting

13WL or 13WG CAN fit 16s
13WH = big brakes = 17+

While the caliper size dictates what wheel will fit, were there different wheel sizes offered? I have the same wheels as my friend who has an '03 limited, I have an '04 SR5. Did the wheels below come in two diameters? I thought they only came in 17"...

thos wheels came in 17" only. I have factory 18's on my truck currently.
I will check my calipers and decide what i want to do
