I mean Pilot Bearing! WOOHOO!!
So I hit 168,000 miles on the original clutch and started getting a real loud grinding squeal when I had the clutch engaged. Coming to a stop I had to pop it out of gear just to get it to stop making noise. Shifted fine but it sounded like I was grinding coffee with the runner at the stop light.
As my 5 speed Toyota's in the past the clutch was still in fairly good shape and so was the Throwout bearing. In the past it was always the Throwout bearing that went out. In this 5 speed it was the Pilot bearing.
I bought the clutch kit from Toyota and had a friend install it for around $500 including a rear main seal.
It night sound like a lot of $$$ but it was totally worth it to me. :driving:
