18" limited wheels vs 17" FJ cruiser wheels, opinions and pictures welcome!

I've seen evidence of rubbing with stock 265/60R18 tires on my Limited wheels. There's a small bump on the UCA, and it was rubbed clean when everything else under there is dirty.

I would trade my 18" for some 17", though I just bought new tires. I'd prefer more sidewall, but I don't want to go with bigger tires.

So are the FJ wheels and the 13 Trail Edition the same wheels?

Correct. Even with aftermarket control arms, you still need the added clearance the spacer affords.

I've had my Spidertrax spacers on for 80k miles. No issues. I do make sure they are torqued correctly any time the wheels are off, which isn't that often.

Plus the truck has a better look to it with the greater offset. Your other option would be aftermarket wheels with the correct offset as not to need spacers.

Ever since I had spacers on my 06' Tacoma I swore I would never do it again. Had nothing but terrible vibrations from those things... Maybe a slightly taller but not wider tire would fit without them?

I already have a winter set of MTR 255/80/17s on FJ steelies for the winter. Just need to start figuring out a new summer set of tires for next spring.
